Entice Your Senses with Design

Written by Kesha Franklin, CEO of The Beautiful Experience

Happy New Year! As we embrace the year 2015 with enthusiasm and hope for a year full of success and happiness, I wish you all the best the year ahead
has to offer. Hopefully, one of your 2015 goals is to make a bold move to
update your home, office or your life in general.

It’s a New Year, New Space, New You…

The New Masculine

new_masculineTraditionally, women have always taken the reigns on designing the home, the selection of floral prints and soft neutrals left most men feeling like a guest in their own home. Our feature image shows a harmonious balance of masculinity and feminine sophistication. The strong depth of texture in the grass cloth wallpaper, upholstered velvet accent chair and ottoman coffee table are softened by the elegant gold accents of the satin pillows, drapery trimming and custom wall sconces. The design is complete with a photo print artwork that expresses the vulnerability of a stallion. The perfect expression of masculine strength and feminine seduction. This setting is fit for a Super Bowl get together or high tea!

Exotic Retreat

exotic retreat copyIf you’re unable to take a trip to Bali, there’s no reason you can’t create an at-home escape with a Bohemian-inspired bedroom retreat. The unique hand-carved headboard, hand-dyed bed linens and wrought iron chandelier adds a touch of global serenity inspired by nature and its skilled artisans. The soft textures evoke warmth and simplicity, the perfect combination for a peaceful night’s sleep. So until you’re able to take that much needed vacation, create an atmosphere that will take you on a trip abroad every time you step into the room.

Entice the Senses

entice the senses copyThe five senses are key points of reference in design. When approached carefully the sense of touch, sound, taste, sight and smell can be transformed into an experience that entices the mind, body and soul. The Nest Luxury Home Fragrance will be sure to enhance the aroma of your everyday living and entertaining experience. The Nest candle has become a staple at every one of my projects and dwells in every room in my home, from the clean smell of Mint Moss to the popular Grapefruit, to the newly added Sicilian Tangerine. Be sure to awaken your sense of smell with one of their unique fragrance experiences. Your nose will be glad you did!

The top of the year is full of resolutions and long to-do lists, so there is always a wish to find some quiet time and calm in the midst of getting our lives together, however, many of us struggle to find the time and the space to carve out a few moments to take advantage of this necessity. This week’s feature image is a sophisticated nook that serves as a space to unwind, exhale and reflect. You may not have the luxury of creating an entire room to serve this purpose, however, you can find an area or space in some part of your home to make quiet time a reality. As essential as the air we breathe, taking time out for ourselves is a key part of our health, success and happiness. Remember, balance is the key to life. Make you a priority!

*Resolution*–noun; A firm decision to do, or not to do something

The top of the year always brings with it a slew of New Year’s resolutions
and optimism to lose weight, be a better person, or whatever you are hoping
to accomplish this year. Resolutions are most rewarding when we stick to
the decision to complete the task ahead.
